Abstract:
Atomic oxygen (AO) is one of the most severe space environment in LEO and is one of the important influencing factors in the spacecraft thermal control design and the materials selection. In this paper, two kinds of thermal control materials used in the spacecraft, such as coatings and films, are taken as the examples to study the influence of AO. Based on the experimental data, the influence in different application areas in the spacecraft is analyzed. The results might be used in the thermal design and the thermal analysis of spacecraft.
