Abstract: Based on a simple model, this paper discusses some concepts of force limited control technology, including apparent mass, modal effective mass and residual mass, and the basic method of determining force limits. With the new research results concerning a center-tube and a satellite in the force limited vibration test, this paper pinpoints the problems of the traditional acceleration controlled method and presents new methods of determining force limits, which may serve as a reference for development of force limited methods in our country.
