Abstract:
The spacecraft charging induced by the interaction of a spacecraft with a charged particle environment is an important phenomena, which is harmful to the reliable operation of the spacecraft in orbit. With the development of the first communication satellite in China, the studies of spacecraft charging technology started. It has a long history of more than 30 years. These studies have played a very important role to ensure a high reliability of spacecraft. This paper reviews the history and main results of studies of spacecraft charging technology in China, including theoretical studies, charging protection technologies, charging and discharging test facilities and simulation softwares.
