Abstract:
As the connector between the test specimen and the shaker'the fixture plays a very important role in the vibration test. In order to reduce its negative effect on the test. the finite element method iS used to analyze the dynamic characteristics of a fixture. A design example iS given to show the relation between the fixture dynamic characteristic design and the vibration environmentaI test conditions. It iS shown that the negative effect on the test can be reduced in a broad band vibration test if the natural frequencies of a fixture and the vibration test conditions can be matched properly.
