Abstract:
This paper presents a variable stiffness analysis for several slide beam structures, and the computation fomulas for the slide stiffness and the static stiffiness of the slide beam strutures. The relations between the slide stiffness and the static stiffness are obtained, with a comparison of me stiffnesses between me straight beam the curved beam at the same position. It is shown mat the slide stiffness depends On the materials, the dimension and the position angle of the beam. The static stiffness is much different from me slide stiffness, and generally the static stiffness is much larger than the slide stiffness. At the same position, the initial slide stiffness of a cunred beam is higher than that of a straight beam. As the angle varies with the beam sliding, the silde stiffness gradually decreases. The stiffness characteristics of the slide beam may be used in the vibration control, and some suggestions for vibration reduction are given.
