Abstract:
This paper reviews the methods of the thermal vacuum tests for large-capacity communication satellites, including the over-test risk identification from the temperature bias, the temperature control by infrared lamps with repeaters, the monitoring of the vacuum degree and the pollution inside the satellites, and the temperature control in the process of temperature recovery to the ambient value. Those test methods have been successfully implemented in the thermal vacuum tests of several large-capacity communications satellites, and Can serve as a reference to other series of satellites.
