Abstract:
The impact on a spacecraft depends directly on
the buffer ability of the spacecraft’s docking mechanism,
therefore, it is important to test the performance of the buffering mechanism. In this paper, the effect of the mass and initial velocity on the impact period is studied by numerical simulations based on the Hertz contact model; furthermore, the frequency characteristics of the acceleration of this impact testing system are obtained, as the basis in choosing the accelerometer sensor for the impact testing system.
