Abstract:
The effects of the space radiations on the volume resistivity and the breakdown field strength of five kinds of heat-shrinkable sleeves are studied in this paper. The γ-ray and the low energy electron were used to simulate the space charged particle environment, respectively. It is shown that the breakdown field strength of the samples is little affected by γ-ray and electron radiations, whereas the volume resistivity of the heat-shrinkable sleeves is degraded to various degrees after different radiations. More severe degradation is caused by electron radiation than by γ-ray radiation.
