Abstract:
In response to the increasing heat dissipation needs of China’s GEO communication satellites, a thermal design method characterized by high-low temperature partition of heat-pipe network was proposed. Based on the analysis of heat-pipe network heat dissipation capability, the device partition layout design, the heat-pipe network cooling surface design, and the partition heat-pipe network layout design were carried out. With this method, the satellite’s heat dissipation capacity can be improved by 15% to 20% under the premise of ensuring the operating temperature of satellite equipment, not reducing the reliability of thermal design, and not increasing the weight and power requirements of subsystems. In addition, enlightened by the experience and lessons of communication satellite research in recent years, the points for attention in designing high-low temperature partition heat-pipe networks are summarized, to provide effective guidance for the related engineering design.
