Abstract:
The molecular adsorber on the ceramics substrate is a new idea for the spacecraft contamination control. The adsorption and desorption performance of the molecular adsorber with the 13X molecular sieve is studied experimentally with the outgassing product of the cables. It is shown that the 13X molecular sieve is effective in capturing the contaminant molecules, ensuring an adsorption performance of the molecular adsorber between 3.1×10
-2 g/cm
2 and 3.4×10

2. The molecular adsorber with the ceramic substrate can be used to control the contamination in the thermal vacuum test and the on-orbit operation of the spacecraft, to prolong the spacecraft life and enhance the reliability.
