Abstract:
To evaluate the space environmental property degradation of the thermal control coating used in manned spacecraft, a series of tests including the the atomic oxygen irradiation, the ultraviolet irradiation, and the electron/proton irradiation of for the KS-ZA white coating are carried out. Based on the experimental data, the reaction rate and the long-time erosion of AO and KS-ZA is are analyzed. Based on the experimental results and the mathematical models, the a degradation model is built and the prediction plots of the optical properties of KS-ZA due to the ultraviolet irradiation are proposedmade. The results show that the KS-ZA coating has a very good environmental performance that and can meets the long-life thermal requirements of manned spacecraft. The results can provide some references in the thermal design and the degradation analysis of manned spacecraft.
