Abstract:
For the noise reduction and elimination in the aerospace field, based on the basic theory of the micro-perforated sound absorbing panel, a set of fast calculation chart is designed for the structural design of the candidate panel. The PMMA material is chosen for its desirable light transmittance, good workability and weather resistance; and the laser drilling technique is adopted based on the technical and economic considerations. Comparison between the calculated value and the measurement value of the sound absorption coefficient at the normal incidence shows that the computation deviation is not more than 15%, when the structure, the material, and the process design all satisfy the engineering requirements. The results provide some reference in promoting the application of transparent micro-perforated panels.
