Abstract:
The implementation of the materials gene engineering is a new highlight in the field of the materials science and its application. In the field of aerospace, the big data and computing, the integrated computational materials engineering, the multi-scale modeling and the simulation-based design of materials have greatly promoted the development of spacecraft components and systems. In this paper, the purpose, the function, and the common themes of the computing system in the NASA Materials Gene Engineering 2040 Planning are discussed. Then the implementation and the development of the materials gene engineering in China are reviewed. It is recommended to extend the concept of the materials gene engineering to the development of aerospace materials. Some thoughts on the overall direction, the development route and the key technologies of the aerospace material gene engineering are put forward, to provide a reference for the development of the aerospace materials in China.
