Abstract:
In view of the lack of knowledge of the variation rules of the performance characteristics and the reliability information of the widely-used SSD, this paper analyzes the effects of the space environment on the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) SSD, and develops an SSD testing apparatus, capable of providing typical space environments, such as the thermal cycling, the thermal vacuum, and the space radiation. An SSDTS software based on the open-source software Iometer is used to realize the function of the automatic parameter monitoring, and the data acquisition, the processing, the graphical display, the storage and the layback. The integrated test system can monitor the performance characteristics for a batch of SSDs, including the voltage and the current at the SATA interface, the average & real-time R/W speed and response time, as well as the amount of the written data. It can not only inspect and record the disk capacity periodically, but also adjust the test strategy (the R/W proportion, the data packet size, and the assessment patterns), and control the power supply voltage.
