Abstract:
The radiation environments of the Jovian system include: high energy electrons and protons, heavy ions, plasmas, auroral particles, etc. Additionally, the radiation environments near the Galilean satellites are also of interest. According to the characteristics of the special high-level radiation, the low-intensity sunlight, and the extremely low temperature in the Jovian system, the related radiation effects are analyzed, including the total ionizing dose effect, the internal charging effect, the single event effect, and the displacement damage effect. The choice of shielding materials and the design of shielding vault in the Jovian system mission are discussed focusing on the total ionization dose effect.
