Abstract:
Fire safety is one of the most important concerns in the overall design of manned spacecrafts. Based on the engineering practice of fire safety design for manned spacecraft in our country, this paper reviews the methods for ensuring the fire safety in a sealed cabin, including the control of the three elements of fire, i.e., the combustible materials, the oxygen concentration, and the ignition source; as well as to guard against fire spreading, to implement smoke and fire monitoring, and to take timely countermeasures in case of fire. The research can provide a reference for later engineering designs to ensure the flight safety of manned spacecrafts.
