The photovoltaic cells are the core components for photovoltaic conversion of the laser-powered UAV. An output performance testing system is designed and built to investigate the influence of temperature on the output performance of the photovoltaic cells. The

I characteristics of the GaAs and Si cells irradiated at some specific laser power density and different temperatures, the open-circuit voltage, the short-circuit current, the max output power, the matching load, the conversion efficiency and the fill factor under the same condition are experimented. The expressions of these parameters vs. the temperature are obtained. The results can help the choice of photovoltaic cells and the prediction of their temperature performance.
