Abstract: This paper reviews the backup redundancy control schemes involved in the secondary power supply of spacecraft. The phenomenon named the “backup suppressing main” in the power supply is analyzed, as well as the causes of its generation. The results of numerous experiments on the ground provide an understanding of the operating modes of the heat backup secondary power supply. It is shown that the so-called “backup suppressing main” is a particular operating mode, not the product's failure.
