Abstract: In view of the fact that the radiometer is mainly used to measure the steady heat flux under a thermal balance condition, a kind of calorimetric radiometer is developed in this paper and experiments are carried out to study the characteristics of the calorimetric radiometer in measuring the transient heat flux. The experiments show that the calorimetric radiometer can be used to measure the transient heat flux with a short response time.
