Abstract:
The metallic materials used in an antenna system require a good elasticity and a high strength, to satisfy the proper deforming function and the safety requirements. Zr-based metallic glasses exhibit high strength and low elastic modulus , and can exactly meet the elastic part requirements in spacecraft. In this paper, Zr-based metallic glassy elastic parts are prepared by using the copper mould casting method, and the thermal stability and the mechanical performances are tested. The structural properties of the metallic glasses of elastic parts in spacecraft with high strength and good elastic properties are analyzed and the relationship between structural and mechanical properties is obtained. The metallic glasses prepared for elastic structural materials in spacecraft have many new prospective applications.
