Abstract:
The traditional design of the magnetorquer only concerns the simplified hold position, without analytical or numerical calculation, and the influence of the geometric parameters on the stress level in the magnetorquer is not considered. To solve the problem, this paper studies the influence of the hold position and geometric parameters on the stress level in the magnetorquer and a relationship between them is obtained by analytical and numerical methods. The effect of the bolt diameter on the stress distribution is significant. When the design stress does not meet the requirements, the stress level can be reduced by increasing the diameter of the bolt.
